Every year, on January 27th, families from across Canada celebrate ABC CANADA Family Literacy Day. They take part in a wide range of literacy-themed events coordinated by local literacy organizations, schools and libraries.
As the founding sponsor of Family Literacy Day — now in its ninth year — Honda Canada has helped build momentum both on a national level and within local communities. With the tagline, Read. Write. Surf. Sing. Together., this initiative encourages parents to read with their children as a means of building knowledge for future success.
To remind you of Family Literacy Day, Honda sponsors literacy TV commercials throughout the month of January. Look for the new "Read To Your Kids" ad and use it as a cue.
We encourage you to set aside 15 minutes of family-time each day to read, write, surf the Internet or sing with your children, and help them become good readers and learners.
