Middlegate Honda Invests Millions in Burnaby’s Economy
03-May-06

(Burnaby, BC) – Middlegate Honda in Burnaby will officially open its newly renovated dealership today, marking the completion of a project that has injected more than $3-million dollars into Burnaby’s economy.

The dealership, which is part of the OpenRoad Auto Group, has been serving the Burnaby / New Westminster community for over 25 years. It was torn down in January 2005 to make way for a new facility that would better serve Middlegate Honda’s clients and demonstrate the dealership’s belief in the surrounding community.

Featuring a wide-open showroom with an un-matched selection of vehicles, as well as a comfortable lounge area complete with a Playstation console, complimentary refreshments, and aquatic fish tanks, the new dealership represents the kind of development that is revitalizing the Middlegate area, turning it into one of Burnaby’s more vibrant and viable neighbourhoods.

“The new Middlegate Honda dealership was designed to make buying a vehicle an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience,” says OpenRoad Auto Group’s CEO, Christian Chia. “We want our clients – and everyone else in the Burnaby community – to benefit from our investment and enjoy the atmosphere that the new facility provides.”

The OpenRoad Auto Group started in the Richmond farmland in 1978 when the three Chia brothers opened Richmond Toyota.  Since then, the group has grown to seven dealerships across the Lower Mainland with combined annual sales of more than $190-million and a staff of over 300 technicians, salespeople and administration personnel.  OpenRoad strives to provide customers the best-possible vehicle shopping experience by featuring wide-open showrooms, visible sales managers, comfortable lounge areas and an un-matched selection of products.
